Leaves-a-Falling

It's that time of year again....and sadly I have been so busy with:

  • Other teachers' health/personal leave
  • Family issues
  • Crazy kid reactions to crazy weather, and
  • Parents Teacher Conferences
that I haven't even taken the time to look around and enjoy the changing colors. How sad is that? But over UEA, mom, Hunter, Britty, Lizzie, and I made the trek up to Monrovian Park to see the leaves changing. It's one of those places where you can escape from reality straight into nature. And I have loved it from the time I was little. Here are a few images from our outing this fall:

Cute little Brittney! Happily enjoying the great outdoors.

The colors were phenomenal! Yellows, golds, tans, pinks, reds and some greens still holding their own.

This is my favorite! It was one of those days when my energy was running low, and I was just game enough to insist on the outing, hike about for about 1/2 an hour, and then be ready to hop back in the car. Happily, the serene drive down the canyon on twisty slim roads, banked on both sides by breathtaking foliage seemed to calm all our nerves and refresh me a bit.

This was my mom's shot of the leaves from below (the "pink" as she called it, seemed to grab her attention more than the rest), silhouetted against the blue sky and the sun's afternoon rays. I agree mom, it did turn out nice.

I really like the pic of our pretty Britty!! Great shot, Sarie.
I think we both look sort of tired --
